Spring Flower Project

Spring is coming, however slowly! This project will hopefully get everyone in the mood for flowers and sun shine!

You will need:
construction paper
scissors
glue

Step 1: Chose the colors you would like your flowers and your background color. I picked blue to represent the sky.

Cutting out Buds

Step 2: Fold each paper to about the size you would like your buds and cut out. If you are a little weary of a “free cut” draw or trace flower shapes on your paper before cutting. By folding your paper and then cutting you should get several buds from one cut, a nice time saver.

Step 3: Cut out leaves and flower stems. You could also cut out a sun. What I did to cut out my sun was to cut out a circle in yellow construction paper and then cut small triangle out, leaving a relatively intact and recognizable sun.

Step 4: Show your child how to stick buds, leaves, and stems to the paper and let them go at it! I let my little boy pick out a bud, leaf, or stem and then I put a small blob of glue and he would stick it to the paper. He really enjoyed himself and wouldn’t quit until we had used EVERYTHING I’d cut out! Hence the business.
