72 Hour Kit: Part 3

Another Trip

This picture is of my second and third additions to our 72 Hour Kits, the cost for this was about $50. (not including the wind-up radio)

The complete kit shot:

Group Shot

In this kit I have 4 meals for each member of my family: oatmeal and apple sauce, Ramen Noodles, 2 meals of instant potatoes (regular and 4 cheese) with Vienna Sausages, extra apple sauce, 4 packages of crackers, 5 packages of fruit snacks (plus extras), peanut butter for protein kicks, king size Snicker bars for quick energy, 3 granola bars. Each family member also has a bowl, cup, and spork, poncho, emergency heat blanket, hand sanitizer, and garbage bag. Also in the shot is our wind-up weather radio, hatchet, and heavy duty matches. I need to dig out our wind-up flashlights and get them in the kit as well. Not pictured are 2 backpacks, they are just the old backpacks my husband and I had in college. Next on the list is a first aid kit for each backpack, some rope, feminine products and extra diapers/wipes for the little guy, along with some other stuff.

Check out Part 1 and Part 2.

  1. If you don’t already have a first aid kit, don’t get one. We’re having a health fair for relief society on saturday and we’re putting some together. I’ll pick up 3 for you if you want!

  2. Sweet! Thanks!
