Philadelphia Libraries to Remain Open

I’m so happy to announce that the libraries in Philadelphia will remain open. Free Library of Philadelphia just put out a news release stating, “the Pennsylvania State senate passed bill 1828 by a vote of 32 to 17.” and that over 2,000 letters were sent to government officials and, “countless others made calls and sent emails underscoring how important public libraries are to the economic, educational and social life of our city.” Funding is now available to keep all the public libraries open and all employees will be able to keep their jobs. Yay! I hope that we can all keep track of community issues like these and support each other so that we will have these wonderful resources.
