Hamburger Hash Recipe

My husband has been doing the shopping since I had the baby and I have to say that we shop differently. 🙂 He doesn’t really think of meals he’d make as he buys ingredients so we ended up with about 20 pounds and 2 varieties of potatoes and no ideas from the purchaser of how to use them. So I turned to Allrecipes.com and typed in “hamburger and potatoes” and found this Hamburger Hash recipe. It was de-licious and easy easy easy. It has most definitely gone into our recipe box. With just a few ingredients, you can add to it easily to make it more your style or change it up as you like. We did the original recipe but added carrots and it was so yummy.

Hamburger Hash

Ingredients

* 1 pound ground beef
* 1 large onion, chopped
* 1 pound potatoes, cut into small chunks
* 2 tablespoons beef bouillon
* water to cover

Directions

1. Brown beef and onion in a large saucepan until meat is no longer pink. Add potatoes, bouillon and water to cover.
2. Cover saucepan, lower heat and let simmer for 30 minutes, or until potatoes are tender and water has reduced/evaporated.

  1. Your comment about Ben shopping made me laugh. Sounds easy and de-lish.

  2. My mom made something like this for me when she came to take care of me when I was too sick to take care of myself. It looks about the same as this except she threw all the ingredients in the crockpot (you don’t even have to cook the ground beef first). We also added some corn, green beans, and a can of cream of chicken soup. It was such an amazingly delicious comfort food! And so easy because you just throw it all in the crock pot and turn it on. Mmm. Makes me hungry just thinking about it.
