Completed 50 States Filled in

So I haven’t been doing much besides holiday travel, shopping and sewing. This is where I was a few days ago. I’ve since added a few things to the blanket but not much and will be put it up on the quilting frames today. Yay!

Some close-ups of the embroidery (sorry the pictures are so bad, I’ll update later with better ones):

Iowa corn with some awesome French Knots.

The first thing any boy notices about the quilt: a semi.

Catfish? Yes please, preferably breaded and fried. 🙂 Shout out to Clear Springs Cafe, home of the best catfish EVER!

The black hills? Awesome, with a tepee? Even better.

How could I not do a sunflower?

Did you know that Nevada’s state flower is SAGEBRUSH! What a desolate place to have to have your state flower a yucky bush… I do love you Nevadans though, it’s not your fault! In the corner you can see some California redwood trees.

A clam in an apparently sad Maine. Oops.

I also sewed the Rocky and Appalachia mountains, a shrimp, igloo, and more. This has been a really fun project but I’m far from done. I’ll be hand-quilting this blanket. Yes I am crazy. 🙂 So stay tuned for more updates!

For a better view of the map check out my previous post.
